Sign up now to play in the Adult Softball League on the fields near Crabtree Gym. The season begins April 16, with games Monday through Thursday at 6:45, 7:45, 8:45 and 9:45 p.m. Registration is by teams, and the fee is unknown at this time until we have a definite number of participating teams. Sales Tax Workshops

The South Carolina Department of Revenue will host several one-cent capital project sales tax workshops for all businesses. The two in Myrtle Beach will be held at 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Thursday, March 22, at the Myrtle Beach Train Depot. Businesses will have a chance to ask questions about any sales tax related issues. The workshops will last about an hour and a half. A second set of workshops will be held at 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Thursday, April 12, at the Horry County Government and Justice Center in Conway.
Quiltmaker's Works on Display at Art Museum

To celebrate National Women's History Month, the Art Museum is hosting a brunch, discussion and workshop with award-winning quilt artist Dottie Moore. Participants will learn to make a collage quilt incorporating personal symbols and expression. Brunch and all supplies are included in the $35 admission. Moore, of Rock Hill, has been quilting more than 30 years and is an author, lecturer, Internet radio host.
Friendship Team Logo Contest
$250 for the winning design!

Here's a chance to put your artistic skills to good use! The City of Myrtle Beach and the Bike Week Task Force are sponsoring a contest for a logo design for the Friendship Team, which helps with two major events in May. The winning artist will earn a $250 prize, and the logo may be used on the Friendship Team's t-shirts. Here are the contest rules:

The entry deadline is 5:00 p.m., Monday, March 26, 2007.
The contest is open to amateur or professional illustrators of all ages who reside in Horry or Georgetown Counties.
Your logo should illustrate the motto: "Our beach is your beach: Please respect our communities," and this text must be included in the logo design.
The logo must be the original artwork of the entrant. No reproductions, in whole or in part, of any existing artwork or logo will be accepted.
Only one submission per entrant will be accepted. The artist's name, address and phone number must accompany the submission.
The logo must be a finished, color artwork, suitable for translating into a t-shirt design. The finished image size will be approximately 11 inches by 8 inches. Just
one winning artist will receive $250.
The logo must be of a high enough quality to convert to camera-ready art without significant alteration or effort.
The winning artwork may be used on the official Friendship Team t-shirts and elsewhere and becomes the property of the City of Myrtle Beach.
Non-winning entries can be returned to the artists and will be available for pick-up at the Myrtle Beach City Hall, 937 Broadway. Please indicate whether you want your entry returned, or you may enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope for return.
All entries must be delivered and entered to the Myrtle Beach City Hall, 937 Broadway, by 5:00 p.m., Monday, March 26, 2007, or mailed to Friendship Team Contest, City of Myrtle Beach, P. O. Box 2468, Myrtle Beach, SC 29578, with a postmark date no later than March 26, 2007.
